Where Your Story Meets History
Welcome to MYMY PORCELAIN STORY. Every piece here is not just an object; it’s a page from an ancient saga, waiting to become a part of your story.
Our story began with a single encounter. Years ago, our founder stood before the ruins of an ancient kiln in Jingdezhen, holding a shard of Yuan Dynasty blue and white porcelain. The blue peony patterns, vibrant against the white clay, seemed to whisper tales of the grandeur and solitude they had witnessed. In that moment, a thought was born: “If every ancient piece holds a story, could we become the prologue to its next chapter?”
This is the essence of MY PORCELAIN STORY. We are a collective of porcelain enthusiasts, history seekers, and modern aesthetics curators. Our mission is not merely to “sell” beautiful objects, but to build a bridge—connecting the ancient craftsmanship of Jingdezhen with the rhythms of contemporary life worldwide
We work closely with artisan studios in Jingdezhen, who are inheritors of these time-honored techniques. We meticulously curate each item, from classic patterns like interlocking lotus and the “Three Friends of Winter” to innovative designs that blend modern sensibilities. We obsess over every detail: the radiance of the cobalt blue, the confidence of the brushstroke, the warmth of the glaze, and the unique feeling it evokes when held in your hands.
Whether it’s holding your morning coffee, steeping your afternoon tea, or simply gracing your desk, we believe that when these pieces, steeped in a thousand years of history, become part of your daily life, a new chapter begins. Your use, your appreciation, the moments you share with it—this is the most compelling continuation of its story.
Thank you for being here. We can’t wait to see the story you will tell.
Blue and White: A Symphony of Fire and Earth
Blue and white porcelain is more than just ceramic; it is a symphony composed by fire and earth, an enduring legacy in cobalt blue that connects the East and West across millennia.
Its story began in the Tang Dynasty China, but its golden age blossomed during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. In the Yuan Dynasty, facilitated by the vast Mongol Empire stretching across Eurasia, precious cobalt pigment known as “Sumali blue” was imported from Persia. In the hands of master Chinese artisans, this pigment was used to paint intricate patterns onto pure white clay. Fired at approximately 1300°C, the cobalt blue emerged eternally under the glaze, displaying a deep, vibrant hue, sometimes with characteristic iron oxide speckles, defining the bold and majestic style of Yuan blue and white.
The Ming Dynasty saw the technique and artistry of blue and white porcelain reach its zenith. The pieces from the Yongle and Xuande eras were renowned for their sapphire-like depth, while the Chenghua period developed a more delicate and elegant aesthetic. This porcelain became not only a treasure of the Chinese imperial court but also the most coveted commodity in global trade. Via the Maritime Silk Road, countless pieces journeyed to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and eventually to Europe.
In Europe, it was known as “White Gold.” Royals and aristocrats were captivated by it; it was a symbol of wealth and status, inspiring a wave of imitation across the continent. From the Dutch Delftware to the German Meissen porcelain, the inspiration for them all can be traced back to these original blue and white wonders.
This stroke of cobalt blue, traversing time and oceans, born from the kilns of Jingdezhen, ultimately became a universal language of art, narrating a timeless tale of beauty and cultural dialogue.
